Tema: Germany or the US – Where is Your Next Health Tech Market?
Pressure from investors to go to the US? Unsure about the market opportunity in Germany? How can the two be compared to make the best decision for your business?
This session is designed to equip Health Tech startups with the knowledge to make informed decisions about expanding into either the German or US markets. By comparing and contrasting key factors such as market size, regulatory landscape, billing and reimbursement, funding opportunities, and cultural nuances, attendees will gain an overview of the opportunities and challenges presented by each country.
Speaker: Daniel Young and Romy Benninga from Digital Health Works
Daniel Young is an international expert with 18 years’ hands-on experience building technology ventures, especially in the health care sector. Prior to Digital Health Works, Daniel was the Founder and Managing Director of Bold Works, providing organization, product and investment assistance for early-stage startups, working with organizations like the Cleveland Clinic, Charité Hospital Berlin, or the technology transfer office at the Oslo University Hospital.
Romy Benninga is a biomedical scientist with an eye for bringing innovative science to market. Before co-founding Digital Health Works in 2023, Romy’s career encompassed roles spanning from R&D, through to medical affairs, business development and leadership positions within medical device start-ups in Switzerland and the US. Her expertise lies in combining a deep understanding of medical technologies with target markets to advise in not only the creation, but also in the successful implementation of commercial strategies.

Fagnettverk for Tyskland har fokus på internasjonalisering og eksport inn mot det tyske markedet. Gruppen møtes ca. hver 3. måned til en digital samling hvor man får innsikt og diskuterer aktuelle tema relatert til markedsadgang og vekst i Tyskland.
Fagnettverket er et samarbeid mellom Norwegian Smart Care Cluster og Norway Health Tech. Gruppen ledes av Cathrine Ro Heuch fra selskapet Nordic Brain Tech, og fasiliteres av Norway Health Tech. Fagnettverket er åpent for medlemmer av klyngen(e).
